Visual Studio Express 2008 - Disconnect after download!

Friday, December 14, 2007 2:29 PM

Download complete. You can now disconnect from the Internet.

Is this where I take my NIC card out? Do you know of any developer that uses Dialup? I'll go nuts if I have to go back to Dialup or disconnect from the Internet after I am done with a download. Maybe some people do just that for security reasons...really - I can't think of why I'll want to disconnect my network after downloading VSE2K8!

It did ask me to connect to the Internet before clicking next, I guess it's only appropriate to ask you to disconnect.

GravatarI do have the habit of doing some development work on a laptop (Lenovo T61), often connected via WiFi hotspots or WWAN connections.

I actually like these messages. I often want to snag a big download on a fast network and run off into a disconnected or partially connected enviornment during an install.

Mobile ubiqutious computing is actually starting to happen, but in the mean time I have to live with dead zones and disconnections.
