Ok, so is this absolutely necessary? I understand the need for security but *darn* it, its justĀ a forum! My bank does not required that much of a complex password. Apart from the fact that I have to keep track of a buzillion passwords, its only a pain when I have to add an extra login to the list.
Invalid password. All passwords must be at least 8 characters long and contain at least 1 uppercase character, a lowercase character, a numeric character (digit), and a special character.
I understand the need for security which helps to prevent forum posting bots, etc...however, I don't think the users should have to do the managing. The same issue applies to social networks, considering the fact that a new one pops up by the minute, how many social networks do we need?
Someone please come up with way to perform a centralize login. OpenID is awesome, however, its still not there and not too many people are willing to change their authentication system. Its an awesome idea if I must say, but how do we get all of the existing websites to use/implement OpenID?
Our online experience needs to be simplified!!!
