WinFx - upcoming .Net Framework 3.0

WinFx (breath taking object oriented API) is the next version of our famous developer framework. It builds on and extends the .Net Framework. Don't get scared - it will contain all of the existing framework 2.0 components and other powerful innovative technologies. WinFx has been growing for a while now within the Microsoft dome, probably 10 or more years (Year 1993 & Win95) but hey we didn't care or know about it until .Net Framework and even if we did, it wasn't anything to pay too much attention to. The .Net framework 3.0 will probably ship with Microsoft Windows Vista, I'm not...

Google open search API now available!

Google has recently launched their SOAP Search API service. With the Google SOAP Search API service, software developers can query billions of web pages directly from their own computer programs. I can currently smell a boat load of applications/mashups popping out for google API. I'm currently writing down some ideas, let me know if you guys have any. This is going to be interesting - as large as google easy! It's easy to get started in...

Emergetk - State of the web

There is a new Ajax toolkit in town with support for .Net and Dojo - pure C#. It looks promising so far but I wouldn't use it in any production environment as of yet as I have already experienced some bugs - its still in v0.1, you shouldn't be expecting a complete wrap but try it out. http://www.emergetk.com/emergetk The Emerge Toolkit Has Arrived. Instantaneous, two way communication between server and browser. 100% C# 2.0. Write your entire application in your favorite CLR-supported language. Build application logic with existing widgets, or roll your own. Construct your interfaces in C# or XML. Control your design with...

Upgrading to subtext 1.5 in less than a minute.

Subtext version 1.5 (Nautilus R and R Edition) is now available - view the complete post here. Upgrading was so easy, I almost cried after I saw this blog up and running in less than a minute. It might take you longer if you have some custom stuff going on. I had some code highlighting and other add-ons that I lost but it should be a piece of cake adding it back on. The development team provided upgrading instructions here, here is my version - its all the same but with some extra safety rules and screen shots. Download the compiled version here. Unzip the package...
