Is this legal? Google domains! $25,000,000

Incredible! I didn't know that the demand for google related domains were this high. Ebay has a listing for 3 google like domains (or should I say domains with the word google that means absolutely nothing) - www.myfavoritegoogle.com,  www.positivelygoogle.com for $25,000,000.00. View the listing here. As you all know, I like digging so I did a little bit off research to see if these domains are even worth a dollar. Google suggest turned out 0 results on both domains - which simply means no one is searching for them. The domains are currently being redirected to http://dubuque1.com/ which immediately pops out a stack overflow error...

Response from feedburner

In response to my post - feedburner invalid feeds, I received a request for samples from Eric(Feedburner) which I quickly sent out and this is what I got back from him: You're right, the feed is invalid because of some bad character in one of the posts. The invalid character is in the source feed, however, and it's making it so even we can't parse the feed. So what we do when we can't read the feed is that we a) automatically notify the publisher that their source feed has become invalid and b) pass the feed through as-is without applying any...

150,000 domains sold!

Shouldn't there be a law against these type of businesses or business models. I've been looking for domains for the past month that will fit my new products with no luck - probably because Los Angeles-based Demand Media bought the domain name registrar eNom and their plan is to put up low-cost content on the 150,000 domains they have acquired—sites like beautifulhomes.com and mobilephone.com—driving up their number of visitors (already 25 million per month) and collecting click-through dollars for sending them to real destination sites - Now that is ridiculous!!! What about us that do need these domains for legitimate business...

Feedburner Invalid characters

I've noticed that some of the feeds that I subscribed to fails most of the time - so I decided to do some digging and sure enough I found out that they are all using feedburner and the reason why they fail is because of an invalid character or characters in the content. You'll think feedburner should be cleaning this up or probably they do not want to tamper with any of the feed content - anyway just a thought!

Script#

NikHilk from http://www.nikhilk.net, who developed one of my favorite web development tools -  "Web Development Helper", has cooked up another brilliant idea known as Script#. Script#, which is currently  prototype will bring the C# developer experience (programming and tooling) to Javascript/Ajax world. The fundamental goal was to improve the state of the art in scripting. This goes way beyond the usual things that come to mind at first thought: compile-time checking, and intellisense or statement completion. I do think these are super-useful, and would be valuable in and of themselves. As we worked on Atlas we were also thinking of a...

CSS friendly ASP.NET 2.0 control adapters Beta 1.1

This sounds promising! CSS friendly adapters? I'm definitely going to try it out, I came across it today, while search the web for new(not so famous) products, sure enough I found one. You can download the beta edition. ASP.NET is a great technology for building web sites but it would be even better if it rendered different HTML. For example, the Menu control makes it simple to add a menu to a web site but it would be better if it didn't create <table> tags and was easier to style using CSS. Happily, it's easy to "teach" the Menu control how to...

I disrupted Dell factory outlet web servers

While shopping for some monitors on the dell outlet site., I was redirected to a ridiculous message. WARNING:You're disruptively hitting our Dell Factory Outlet web servers too fast, please slow down your incoming HTTP requests to our web servers.Thank you for your cooperation.   What? Are you kidding me? I'm currently thinking twice about buying any dell products (I don't own any currently). I'm trying to imagine the look on my face if I get a message stating: Warning you're disruptively clicking your laptop mouse button too fast, please slow down your mouse clicks to your laptop - for opening a couple of files.

53,651 - First few thousands are just not valued.

Over the last several weeks, I’ve been on several phone pitches from west-coast companies that are looking to be the “flickr of XXXX” or “like del.icio.us but YYYY” or “the Digg killer”. It got me thinking – how many people outside of the valley have ever heard of these companies? I asked a bunch of local (Philly-area) acquaintances and the answer came back loud and clear: none – nada - zip. People here have barely heard of Myspace and Craigslist – let alone any of the “hot” Web 2.0 companies

A new look to techcrunch

It seems Michael Arrington has gone green. I noticed a complete redesign to his website and its looking goog - although he should probably slack a little bit on the green aspect but I guess he is trying to make a point. Some of the new changes that you will notice right away is the home page - menu on the top with an advertise link,  secondly more ads, guess with his traffic count, thatss some good cash flow, however, I preferred the old design - was a lot easier to read. I do use pluck, so it probably won't affect me that much. Mobile...

Same ol same!

Ok, there are a boat load of applications launching everyday by the hour - cool, yeah more websites! However, what is common among them? Similarity and Re-invention! I've noticed that all of the new web applications are all similar one way or the other and they are all re-inventing the wheel someway. To cut the rope of my neck, I'll have to say that there are a few out there that are unique but not completely just a twist to an existing application or a flip, therefore, I've embarked on a journey to build an application quite unique not completely but not...

Microsoft is planning to use its server farms to offer anyone huge amounts of online storage of digital data," the article says. "It even has a name for that future service: Live Drive. Microsoft QnA

Microsoft has launched a all new QnA site located here. Here are the words out of the horses mouth... A little background…Once upon a time, there was an intern at Microsoft who had an idea for getting people answers to the questions they needed. He nicknamed it the “hyperengine” and everyone in Web Search used it for internal projects; it was way cool. Then, when he went back to college, the internal discussions started. Shouldn’t we be building a real one? Grassroots momentum continued and eventually Windows Live QnA was born. We hired the intern back (yes,he graduated) and got another...
